--Kanamono Art Exhibition at Takeo"

November 27th, 2019 (Wed.) – December 27th (Fri.)
Open hours: 11:00-19:00
Except: Saturdays, Sundays, and official holidays

Artist Yoshiki Uchida’s Kanamono Art presents a world of living creatures
that resemble the pictures in animal encyclopedias. Uchida calls this ‘life
artwork,’ creating sculptures and other depictions of organic life by combining
forty-eight kinds of metal tools and other hardware, including nails,
screwdrivers, and pliers, all of which are definitely inorganic. (Kanamono is
the Japanese term for such hardware.) He has held solo exhibitions throughout
the world, including fulfilling a long-time dream of exhibiting in New York,
at the Agora Gallery in 2019. Here, Kanamono Art is realized through TAKEO
fine paper and special printing.
