Forests cover about 30% of the Earth's land surface, but coverage is declining.
Urgent action is required to conserve the world's forests and prevent the problems
caused by deforestation and forest destruction.
Action taken by TAKEO includes actively promoting
FSC forest certification to encourage the conservation of forests.
MIHONCHO HONTEN's current collection exhibition focuses on Takeo's FSC certified paper.
Its opening on September 25 coincides with FSC Friday,
a worldwide celebration of responsible forestry.

Cooperation: FSC Japan
* This is an FSC Forest Week event.

About FSC forest certification
FSC certification is a forest conservation measure that acts as a check
on the pressure to conduct logging in forests that should be preserved,
and supports the growth of healthy forests.
