  • Feature in June 2016 issue of "BRAIN"

"Book Jacket: Senses" is a bi-monthly series made possible
through collaborations with creators using fine paper.
Each issue in this popular project includes a book jacket/cover
made with a different type of fine paper.

Masashi Murakami (㎡, emuni.llp) has been chosen for the June 2016 issue.

The paper used is KURO KIHOUSHI U, packaging paper characterized by
having the classic texture of paper and a solid, neutral black color.

The title of the work is "epigraph."
It is adorned with an inscription inspired by the writings of the philosopher Socrates,
engraved with foil stamping on KURO KIHOUSHI U.
The texture of the paper creates the impression of a stone monument,
and the text of the quote appears to spiral inwards, representing the absorption of knowledge through reading.

The contrast between the paper's feel and matte black foil make it an attractive book jacket.
